This ebook discusses the demands and expectations that children are faced when entering school and begs the question “is their nervous system ready for what they will be faced with?”. In the last few years of my teaching career, I have noticed a complete lack of preparation in our children as far as the expectations of school. Not being prepared for the expectations of school and then being faced with the reality is causing a massive “fight or flight” response in our children, which disrupts the flow of the classroom and disrupts the learning process. I also touch upon the politics in regard to the school system, how this impacts the teacher as the director of the classroom, and how lack of preparation in our children for the reality of school is part of the reason for the explosion of behavior issues in our schools.
